How does it work exactly? These threads are made of PDO (polydioxanone), a fully absorbable and biodegradable polymer that has been used for many years in dissolvable sutures. Clinical studies have shown that when PDO is placed on skin, it begins to disintegrate gradually and new collagen is being formed in its place. Collagen is responsible for the elasticity and firmness of the skin. Also, it was found that the synthesis of endogenous hyaluronic acid is induced, which helps in correct skin hydration. The threads enter subcutaneously with an upward direction and then a grid is created which pulls and supports the skin.
